'Long Grass with Butterflies' is among the works painted by Vincent Van Gogh during his time as a psychiatric patient between 1889-90. While at the hospital at Saint-Paul de Mausole, Van Gogh painted patches of nature in the abandoned hospital gardens. He sketched looking down at small areas of overgrown meadow, and in this work concentrated on small white butterflies. This print is colour matched to the original painting and approved by the National Gallery. Every purchase supports the work of the museum.
