5 Tips To Take Care Of Your Tapestry Bag

You want to keep your brand new handbag looking good and last as long as possible, taking care of it usually falls under the radar. The wear and tear of it will eventually show if you don't take care of it! 

Here we share 5 simple tips to help maintain the pristine quality of your tapestry bags.

1. Use wet wipes/ water and soap

If you've accidentally stained your bag, you can use our stain wet wipes to help get rid of it. You can also use them to give it a quick wipe down once in a while so the stains don't become permanent. By wiping down, it'll also help get rid of germs, so remember to wipe down your phone, purse, and makeup weekly to decrease bacteria growth. Spot clean your handbag by focusing on small patches at a time. You can also use soap and water. Do NOT apply soap directly to the tapestry surface, and NEVER machine wash your bag.

 

2. Stuff your bag to maintain its shape

If you have bigger bags, like our travel bags and big holdalls, they require a bit of maintenance compared to smaller bags. You can put bubble wrap into the larger bags to maintain its shape. An old sweater or newspaper also works.

 

3. Use a smaller pouch to hold your liquids

It's probably happened to all of us before at least once in our life...accidentally spilled lotion or make up in our bag! Putting all these little essentials into a smaller pouch, like one of our cosmetic bags helps you find your products easily. It's make it easier when you want to switch bags as well!

 

4. Use dust bags

Place your bag in a breathable dust bag. If you don't have one, you can use cotton pillowcases in a neutral colour, in order to prevent colour transfer. Make sure the dust bag is large enough so that your handbag doesn't warp or change shape.

5. Store bags on shelf

For bags which you aren't using, the first to do is empty if of its contents and dust. Wipe down with our stain wet wipe and let it air dry, then stuff if to keep its shape. Line your bags up on a shelf or on a flat ledge and refrain from hanging it as this will distort the shape of the handles. Don't allow the handles of the bag to be pressed down - in this case, the bag should lie flat.
