Jacob Marrel Tulip Black
Jacob Marrel was a painter in the 17th century working in the Netherlands who, was greatly famous of flowers and insects because of his still life’s with the 'botanical' or 'wild' tulip. His artwork also is known as "Jacob Marrel tulips". Marrel's tulip paintings can be viewed at the Rijksmuseum in Amsterdam, and The Ashmolean Museum in Oxford. This tapestry pattern reproduces pink tulips and butterflies on a black background colour inspired from Marrel’s artwork.
